THE PROJECT:
Fast Access Ltd, in partnership with Destia Oy — Finland’s largest infrastructure service company — successfully delivered two major bridge projects using the Fast-Beam™ hybrid suspended access system.
Destia designs, builds, and maintains critical infrastructure across Finland, including electricity networks, bridges, roads, and railways. For these works, they required a rapid, safe, and efficient suspended access solution to support hydro-demolition and structural repair operations.
THE SOLUTION:
Under the leadership of Antti Hyvönen, Global Head of Operations, Product Development, and Training for Fast Access Scandinavia, our teams deployed 200 metres of Fast-Beam™ in just 2.5 days, covering two major bridge projects:
- Viikin Ramppisilta (R6), Helsinki – 98 metres
- Ohkolaakson Silta, Mäntsälä – 208 metres
The works involved:
- Advanced hydro-demolition techniques for precision concrete removal.
- Full environmental containment to protect surrounding areas.
- Rapid installation with minimal disruption to traffic and local infrastructure.
THE OUTCOME:
These projects demonstrated Fast-Beam™’s ability to:
- Deliver large-scale suspended access with exceptional speed.
- Support complex bridge works with operator-safe hydro-demolition.
- Maintain high safety and quality standards across multiple sites simultaneously.
By combining the expertise of Fast Access, TAS, and Destia Oy, the projects were completed ahead of schedule and to the highest standards — setting a new benchmark for efficiency in Finland’s infrastructure sector.
